{"title":"Robert Jan Dukarm","description":"\u003cp\u003eRobert Jan Dukarm, a native of Victoria BC, is an organist, pianist, and violinist. Robert is currently the organist of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican Catholic). He has studied organ with Robert Pletsch at St. John the Evangelist, Music Director Emeritus Michael Gormley at Christ Church Cathedral (Victoria BC), and currently studies organ with Dr. Mark McDonald, the Assistant Music Director at Christ Church Cathedral. In addition to organ recitals, Robert has performed as organist with the CapriCCio Choir for several Remembrance Day concerts at Christ Church Cathedral, including performances of Faure’s Requiem and Vierne’s Messe Solennelle. Robert is the Vice President of the Victoria Chapter of the Royal Canadian College of Organists. As a pianist, Robert has accompanied singers in voice lessons and in recitals. in 2009, Robert jointly won first prize with Soprano Monica Orso in the Victoria Conservatory of Music Senior Lieder Competition. He is the pianist for the Newcombe Singers Community Choir, directed by Kathryn Whitney, and is currently working as pianist with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, directed by Peter Butterfield.
