Allan Stuart - Colours (CD)

Colours is fifteen Extempore piano pieces recorded to celebrate the colors used by the artist Angela Hague. Each piece was composed and recorded while viewing a work of art emphasizing the color in question. Angela was a very colorful artist in the tradition of Kadinsky, so the flow of color defined the work. I paint too, and found that making “Colours” helped develop my sense of color. It deepened my understanding of the emotional qualities inherent in each hue. The varied shading, the blending, the clash and conflict- the possible combinations are endless!
