The Mind EP is from the "Arrival Featuring Russ Miller project: Soul, Mind and Body". This 6-song EP includes the trio of legendary saxophonist Ernie Watts (Rolling Stones, Charlie Haden, Frank Zappa), B3 organ luminary and solo artist Tony Monaco (Joey Defrancesco, Pat Martino) with leader, multi-platinum recording artist Russ Miller on drums. The “Mind” EP comprises a series of songs that were influential to the musician’s development. Using the skills and approaches gathered from performing these pieces over the years, the trio re-imagines them with their current capabilities. “We revisit those great songs that showed us the path…and ask, what would we play for them now, using their gained influences?” adds Russ. From B3 Organ trio arrangements of classic Jazz standards to instrumental R&B classics, the trio forms a new voice and approach to these special musical moments. With guest superstar vocalist Stephanie Spurill (The Jacksons, Gino Vannelli, Elton John), this 6-song section of the 4-Disc Soul Mind and Body project is packed with classic musical moments, from blistering brushwork to swinging B3 and joy-filled Jazz vocals.
