Latin jazz quintet La Banda Ramirez / Metrotang plays their album “A Family Ting” including
treasures of New York’s Latin music: from the Caribbean African diaspora, through Cuba and Puerto Rico, to New York City’s Spanish Harlem and the Bronx. Tunes by Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria, Dave Valentin, with spice from Celia Cruz. Originals by bandleader and drummer Chacho Ramirez and Bill Jacobs incorporate African rhythms into this New York mix.
