Migiwa Miyajima - The Sax Project 1 Featuring Dick Oatts (CD)

The Sax Project 1 Featuring Dick Oatts emerged from Migiwa Miyajima’s vision of connecting people across musical and cultural boundaries. Blending jazz phrasing, classical influences, improvisation, and Japanese sensibilities, the album brings together leading saxophonists from New York and Japan in six configurations, from duet to septet. Recorded in 2023 and 2025, it also captures a deeply personal collaboration with her longtime mentor and musical hero, Dick Oatts, following his retirement announcement.
