Once In A While Band - Love's Waiting For You (CD)

After 13 Years of Giving Back, Tulsa's Once In A While Band Releases First Album Love's Waiting For You, recorded at The Church Studio, will benefit kidney cancer research and expand the band's long-standing charitable mission.

The 12-track project marks the group's first full-length recording and extends a charitable mission that has used music to support causes and strengthen community connections throughout Oklahoma for more than a decade.

Recorded at Tulsa's historic The Church Studio, Love's Waiting For You transforms more than a decade of community service into a new vehicle for giving back. The proceeds from the album will benefit the Kidney Cancer Association and further the band's charitable work throughout Oklahoma.

Founded in 2012 by bassist, songwriter and producer Greg Silvis, Once In A While Band was created with a mission to use music to help others. Over the past 13 years, the ensemble has performed at 32 charitable events and helped raise more than $30,000 for community causes throughout Oklahoma, donating its performances to benefits, fundraisers and charitable events.

As producer, Silvis drew inspiration from artists such as JJ Cale, Fleetwood Mac and Chicago, shaping Love's Waiting For You into a collection of songs exploring themes of love, loss, resilience, self-worth and human dignity.

Melding the soulful grooves of JJ Cale with the classic rock sensibilities of Fleetwood Mac and Chicago, the debut multi-genre album from the Once in a While Band is a striking 12-track exploration of love, loss, and human dignity.

The album features a powerful 10-piece core lineup that delivers a rich, wall-of-sound experience: Nikki Shay (vocals), Robert Mays (vocals, keys, violin), Rick Tahdooahnippah (guitar), Tom Basler (vocals, keys), Vic Anderson (saxophone), Rod Clark (trombone), Dave Johnson (trumpet), Greg Silvis (bass), Rick DeMatto (percussion), and Robert Basile (drums). Celebrating the vibrant Tulsa music scene, the tracks are further elevated by guest appearances from Tulsa music standouts like Brad Absher, David John, Denise Hoey, Carol Anwar, Elisha LaForest, and Dale Watts.

This release carries a vital purpose: all proceeds directly benefit the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) and the band's charitable foundation. By supporting this LP, listeners help fund global cancer research and provide essential resources for families navigating a diagnosis.
