Salty Dick has assembled another collection of sailor songs and shanties, with the original, unexpurgated, bawdy, authentic lyrics that seamen actually sang. Most of these songs are taken from a long-lost manuscript written by the “Last Shantyman” Stan Hugill, who collected these versions on the decks of square-riggers in the early 20th century.

Dating to the 19th and early 20th centuries, the shanties were used by sailors when working the ship. For the first time you can hear the real words to many well-known songs. There are obscure gems in here, too, along with some rare items recently collected in the field by Salty Dick himself.
