Told in five chapters, each song refracts a moment of the Capone story through Ness’s perspective, forming a single current, metallic, unyielding, driven by justice and perception. The music is sharper and more restrained than its predecessor: clipped brass, fractured percussion, voices that flare in defiance and vanish into silence. From the tense moral divide of Crossroads of Fate to the restless integrity of College Boy, the relentless raids of River of Iron, the theatrical fury of The Call of Rage, and the courtroom austerity of The Myth and the Hammer, the album traces the making of a legend.
