Tori Sparks - The Scorpion in the Story (CD)

’The Scorpion in the Story’ was Tori’s third album, recorded in Nashville, TN. The songs were written while Tori was on the road all over the United States; the album art shows a map of the country, reflecting where each song was written. The characters in the songs are a cross-section of the people she met at concerts, gas stations, diners, hotel check-in desks, and all the other liminal spaces that are such a part of touring life. The music is more acoustic and eclectic than her previous work, and contains some of her most beloved songs, such as “Leaving Side of Love” and “Penny on a Rail." The song “Tall Towers” can be heard on the official soundtrack for the series 'Sky Rojo' (Netflix, 2021), also featuring Lou Reed, Celia Cruz, Eels, Camarón de la Isla, Primal Scream, and others.
